Mena is the Founder of Black Girl Convention and a purposeful coach, facilitator, motivational speaker, and consultant. She was also behind the internationally recognized campaign and TEDx Talk ‘No. You Cannot Touch My Hair’. When she’s not trying to change the world, you can find her playing American Football.
Bobbi is the Founder of Ready to Blog, a studio that focuses on branding, web design, and strategy for the creative entrepreneur. When she’s not helping her clients convert and connect with their audience or trying to figure out how to work the coffeemaker she’s an avid runner, reader, and adventure-seeker.
Joy is the Founder of The Social Detail, and leads a small team who revolutionise all your social media needs! She is also co-founder of the BME Collective, creating safe spaces and regular meetups for people of colour. Joy leads the marketing as part of the Black Girl Convention 2018 team.
A live vocalist and DJ, Ngaio’s natural neo-jazz style has seen her make a serious impression on music scenes in the UK and internationally. A strong advocate for inclusion and increasing diversity within the industry, Ngaio’s lyrics recount her experiences growing up as a mixed race female in British society.
With a career in the creative industries spanning more than ten years, Emilie has helped deliver many exciting projects including shows at London Fashion Week, BBC’s wildlife Natural History tent at Bristol’s Festival of Nature and SisterWorks Sessions. Emilie currently works for a children’s charity.
Janelle is the host of We Be Book’n, a book club that reviews non-fiction literature by BAME authors. She taught equality and diversity in FE for the past 3 years. When she’s not got her head in a book, she enjoys knitting and practicing yoga.
