How to Be A Great Ally….for Black Girl Convention
THE WORKSHOP
Being an ally is not about you, it’s about how best you can support an oppressed group.
This could be your child, your partner, an employee/employer, a friend…you get the jist. At these sessions you are invited to: discuss the role of being a ‘Great Ally’, specifically in the context of the Black Girl Movement; hear first-hand from black womxn about their experiences and desires from allyship; find out how the Black Girl Movement also benefits you; and support each other to be great allies.

Understanding terminology
Useful resources
White Privilege
Anti-Racism
Institutional Racism
This a purposeful and intentional discussion and exploration space using coaching methodologies with inspiring speakers and facilitators.
This includes lots of room for small group discussion, creative thinking and Q&A sessions.
Come with positive energy, an open mind and a passion for radical change.

All backgrounds welcome (e.g genders, race, class etc…)
We strongly encourage white men and women to attend these events, as we recognise they are currently under represented in supporting the movement for Equality.
These sessions are also fundraising events, with ticket sale profits from live events contributing directly towards funding Black Girl Convention activity.
